Fusion Bonded Epoxy Powder Technology

Fusion Bonded Epoxy Powder Technology

The epoxy powder technology is not only safe and environmentally friendly but is also the most advanced coating technology. In the fusion bonding process the powder melts and becomes chemically bonded to the preheated metallic surface. It forms an integral coating of minimum 250 μm thickness that provides protection from physical damage and chemical attack.

Long-Lasting Protection

Fusion Bonded Epoxy Powder Technology A homogeneous, integral coating inside and outside protects the valve better than other coatings or only a partial coating.

Corrosion starts typically on areas of contact of different materials, at the interface between the different materials. A smooth interior surface is the best protection against abrasion and incrustation.

Application of powder coatings is usually by electrostatic spray or fluidised bed. Both methods allow fully automatic manufacturing processes, e.g. with handling robot. The powder adheres to all free surfaces of the parts by fusing to them. The coating adheres through chemisorption. The chemical adhesion of the protective coatings derives from a strong mechanical and chemical bond.

The epoxy powder technology is first choice where safety, maximum adhesion and coating longevity is important.
